I study flowers, watching them grow and bloom. I then create my own unique “Flora” capturing a moment in time that lasts forever, soft to touch and sturdy in form.
My fiber sculptures are in the round. Each piece is tightly constructed and will retain its form. The materials I utilize to create each piece will last. The pieces can be handled gently and many can have viewing positions changed by turning it or hanging it. All of the sculptures are created with the coiled basketry technique and wrapping using braided poly cord, unbleached linen warp, a needle and scissors.
